Director Letter
The past 18 months have reinforced our appreciation for galleries filled with engaging exhibitions and for the people who have experienced the Museum, whether in person or virtually. Every person and every interaction has made a difference. Board members, visitors, donors and museum members through countless interactions have lived our Mission: to build a global audience and collection that appreciates the cultural and artistic significance of quilts.

Textile Talks
The pandemic enabled us to think outside the box. We contacted our colleagues at other textile-related organizations to launch a weekly virtual lecture series. It was so popular, we continued it for another year!

Education
Our new Education Coordinator, Lauren Holt, had a busy year working with students, educators and artists to reach audiences in a variety of outreach endeavors. Students’ and teachers’ experiences with online learning last year informed how we approached virtual educational content this year.

Exhibitions
It was with great enthusiasm and excitement that the International Quilt Museum reopened to the public on August 4, 2020 with a stellar selection of exhibitions, including the exhibition Nancy Crow | Drawings: Monoprints and Riffs.

Collections
The International Quilt Museum was pleased to acquire 515 quilts and related textiles representing historical, contemporary and art quilt-making traditions from the United States and 17 additional countries this year.

Friends Update
The Friends raised $109,813 to benefit the International Quilt Museum, mainly through grants, donations, Give to Lincoln Day and its annual art market fundraiser. With Covid precautions in place, the Friends pivoted and offered the popular art market as an online auction in 2020. The inaugural online auction offered 120 items and raised $20,356 with 111 bidders from 25 states and 3 European countries.

Who We Are
The International Quilt Museum's leadership team is led by Executive Director Leslie Levy and includes members with skills and backgrounds in textile history, art, museum studies, design and other specialties.
