Collecting and Recollecting Documentary Film Festival: 'Threads'

Tuesday, July 23, 2019

Join the International Quilt Museum this summer as we dive deeper into Indian quiltmaking traditions with screenings of three documentary shorts. A Trunk Show will follow each film and feature related quilts from the museum’s collection.

Appearing this month at Noon: “Threads,” a documentary about Bangladeshi quiltmaker Surayia Rahman, by Cathy Stevulak (2014, 32 min.). A viewing of quilts from West Bengal will follow.

This documentary film festival is held in support of the exhibition “Collecting and Recollecting: Contemporary Quilts from Western India” as part of our Tuesday Talk series. Tuesday Talks are held at the museum on the fourth Tuesday of the month and last about 45 minutes. Admittance is complimentary with admission to the museum.
