Give to Lincoln Day 2021
May 25 is Give to Lincoln Day — a 24-hour fundraising challenge that aims to rally people to support Lincoln’s nonprofit organizations and improve lives. This day is crucial to the International Quilt Museum. Last year our donors contributed over $10,000 during Give to Lincoln Day. Those funds were vital to IQM exhibitions, care of the collection, and provided numerous educational opportunities for children and adults. We invite you to be a part of that support with your tax-deductible donation to Friends of IQM.
You can make your online contribution now through May 25 at https://givetolincoln.com/nonprofits/quiltfriends or mail a check made payable to the Lincoln Community Foundation with Friends of IQM in the memo line. Checks must be postmarked by May 18 and mailed to LCF, 215 Centennial Mall S STE 100, Lincoln, NE 68508.
The Future of Tradition: An Evening with the IQM
Enjoy a special display of quilts and refreshments in support of the International Quilt Museum on Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Legacy of the Plains Museum, 2930 Old Oregon Trail in Gering, Nebraska.
Tickets: $25 (click here beginning July 1 to register)
Announcing Friends 2021 Project Potholder
The Project Pincushion fundraiser was a huge success, thanks to sewists from around the country. Your contributions were awesome, and brought in much needed funds during a difficult time at the museum. Funds raised from selling potholders in the museum's Gift Shop will once again go toward presenting new and exciting exhibits.
Here are the guidelines for making and donating potholders:
- Make two potholders to be sold as pairs (they do not need to be identical)
- 6” to 10” in size, any shape
- Fabric should be 100% quilt quality cotton
- Batting should be 2 layers of cotton or wool or 1 layer of cotton batting plus 1 layer of insulation such as Insul-Bright©
- Include a hanging loop or ring
Do you have a favorite hot dish recipe? Put it on a 3” x 5” card and include two copies with the potholders. One copy will be set aside for a possible future cookbook.
Send your potholder donations to:
