Project Pincushion

Friends of the International Quilt Museum continue to sponsor PROJECT PINCUSHION, a way for quilters from all over the world to support the IQM. For this continuing project, people have the opportunity to make pincushions of any size, shape, or color using any form of needlework: sewing, crochet, knitting, cross stitch, needlepoint. The pincushions are being sold in the IQM gift shop and at special museum events, with proceeds going directly toward future exhibits at the IQM.

To date, we have sold 957 pincushions, raising $6,940 for the museum.

Our thanks go to all the individuals and guilds who contributed to this project as well as everyone who has purchased a pincushion.

We will soon announce a new way for everyone to support the museum with a handmade item.

Give to Lincoln Day

May 28 is Give to Lincoln Day -- a 24-hour fundraising challenge that aims to rally people to support Lincoln’s nonprofit organizations and improve lives. This day is crucial to the International Quilt Museum. Last year our donors contributed over $10,000 during Give to Lincoln Day. Those funds were vital to IQM exhibitions, care of the collection, and provided numerous educational opportunities for children and adults. We invite you to be a part of that support with your tax-deductible donation to Friends of IQM.

You can make your online contribution now through May 28 at or mail a check made payable to the Lincoln Community Foundation with Friends of IQM in the memo line. Checks must be postmarked by May 23 and mailed to LCF, 215 Centennial Mall S STE 100, Lincoln, NE 68508.

Coming Soon: Online Donation.
