First Friday + Barbara Brackman's lecture - The Quilt Detective: Clues in Turkey Red
Join us for September's First Friday, September 2nd from 4-7pm, with free admission to the museum, plus a lecture from Barbara Brackman.
In her lecture "The Quilt Detective: Clues in Turkey Red," Barbara Brackman will show us the clues in Turkey red prints and plains useful in dating quilts. We'll look at imports and domestic cottons in the bright/colorfast shade from Provincial prints to political bandanas with glimpses into international trade, style and chemical copies that just didn't work.
