Mumbai-based quiltmaker Geeta Khandelwal will speak at 5:30 p.m. about her exhibition, “Miniature Costumes and Quilts: Geeta Khandelwal’s Labor of Love," currently showing at IQM. In 2016, Khandelwal began creating miniature versions of extravagant robes worn by ancient maharajas (kings) of northern India. Khandelwal’s scaled-down raiment was inspired by the ceremonial and everyday clothing of the maharajas between the 1750s through the 1950s.
