Mark your calendars for a special First Friday with artist Sara Schellenberg on June 6. Join us for a gallery talk with the artist based on her new exhibition "Sara Schellenberg: Within Me There is a Pinwheel," now showing through Sept. 13. 

Using elements of still-life, abstraction, and figuration, Schellenberg's paintings celebrate the commonalities between quilting and painting. Quilts are used as both a visual source and a narrative element in Schellenberg's work, creating scenes that echo domestic spaces, religious influence and family dynamics. These paintings attempt to engage with the rich visual language of quilting as a folk tradition and as a family practice.
