For our Quilt of the Month, we are sharing this instantly fun quilt from artist Patti Coppock Bucklin!

This quilt depicts a pair of cartoon-like characters — Sam and Pam — fashioned out of a variety of printed fabrics. Each character features a scarf and long-sleeved shirt with uniquely styled plackets. The background behind the characters was made from an upcycled duvet cover found at a thrift store. 

Coppock Bucklin often finds inspiration for her quilts in the drawings of her grandchildren, Collin and Kira. The Sam and Pam characters were originally drawn by Collin a few years prior, and then made into a quilt in 2021. The quilt was shown at Quiltcon 2022 in Phoenix, Arizona.  

This quilt came to our collection in 2023 as part of the Modern Quilt Guild Collection.
