November First Friday

November First Friday
Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a traditional holiday celebrated in Mexico and Latin America for families to honor deceased friends and loved ones with music, feasts and celebration.
To learn more about this beautiful holiday, we will host three read-alouds of the book "Day of the Dead: A Celebration of Life" by Polo Orozco. Read-aloud times will be at 4:30 p.m., 5:15 p.m., and 6:30 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m. we will welcome students from UNL's Glenn Korff School Music, who will perform folk-style songs. In addition to refreshments, we will host an art project where guests and families can decorate sugar skulls with paper, tissue paper, sequins and markers.
