October First Friday + a demo by the Prairie Belle Smockers

Come celebrate the first Friday of October with free admission to the museum from 4:00-7:00PM CT on October 7th. 

Smocking is a form of needlework that has existed for centuries comprising of surface embroidery stitches working over gathered fabric. Smocking is traditionally done on garments to provide shaping and decoration, but it can also be used in home decoration and quilting.
