CANCELLED: Show Way The Musical at the Lied Center

Tuesday, March 26, 2024
ANNOUNCEMENT (3/26):

Due to illness among some cast members, all of today’s performances of “Show Way the Musical” have unfortunately been cancelled. Those who purchased tickets to tonight’s public performance will be contacted regarding a refund or account credit. We thank the Lied Center for Performing Arts for including us in this collaborative event and wish the cast a quick recovery.

However, our event at the Bennett Martin Public Library in Lincoln, Nebraska, is still scheduled. You can still join the International Quilt Museum, Lied Center and Lincoln City Libraries for story time with one of the actors from “Show Way the Musical,” as well as a craft activity from 3:30-4:15 p.m.

From Jacqueline Woodson’s award-winning story that stitches together history, love, resilience, promise and possibility, this musical will inspire all ages for a better tomorrow. Show Way The Musical, a youth friendly production, demonstrates the power of tradition and generational storytelling.

Soonie's great-grandma was just seven years old when she was sold to a big plantation without her ma and pa, with only some fabric and needles to call her own. The quilt she creates shines a light on the past and paves a road to the future, stitching together possibility and promise.
