Exhibition curator Marin Hanson will introduce visitors to "Modern Meets Modern" and engage them in a discussion about the similarities and differences between the exhibition's two eras of "Modern" quilts: the turn of the twentieth century and the present day. By comparing design elements, techniques, and visual effects in the new and antique quilts we can start to appreciate the various ways in which quiltmakers across time have responded to changes in technology, materials, and aesthetic preferences.
